Rules for tattooing differ by state and city, and some of them are specific: minimum age, what a consent form has to record, how long you keep it. Treat these as a sensible default and check them against your local health department before you rely on one. They are not legal advice.

Consent form
Signed at the chair, before the needle goes in. Records medical history, ID, and photo permission.
Aftercare instructions
Handed over at the end of the session, and worth sending again a few days later.
Cancellation policy
Shown when someone books, so the deposit terms are agreed before you draw anything.
Deposit receipt
Sent when the deposit clears, so both of you have a record of what it covers.
